Director: Duncan Jones
With: Sam Rockwell, Kaya Scodelario, Dominique McElligott

The astronaut Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) has a three-year contract with Lunar that is just about to end. He is the sole mechanic supervising the mining of helium-3 on the moon Selene. This precious gas could put an end to the energy crisis on Earth. His isolation has given him time to think about the mistakes of his past. Now he is simply performing his job mechanically and spends most of his time thinking of his imminent return to earth, his wife, and their daughter. Two weeks before his departure, however, Sam begins to see and hear strange things. After a routine check goes catastrophically wrong, he discovers that Lunar has its own ideas about his whereabouts. When a doppelgänger then turns up, and Lunar sends an armed reconnaissance troop, Sam realizes that his return to Earth is in doubt.

Moon tells a story with many paradoxes: the film is an intimate character study in the spacious setting of outer space; a three-character play with just one actor; and a vision of the future that makes use of forgotten science fiction classics.
