News: HMKV 2010 in the Dortmund U and in the PHOENIX Halle
(08.01.2010) In mid-May 2010 HMKV opens, in its new venue in the Dortmund U, the two exhibitions "Agents & Provocateurs" and "Building Memory" (Leonie-Reygers-Terrasse, 44147 Dortmund, Tue-Sun 10-20, Mon closed). In mid-June 2010, the exhibition "Arctic Perspective" will open in the PHOENIX Halle (Phoenixplatz 4, 44263 Dortmund).

News: API awards three competition submissions
(20 Oct 2009) In the framework of the open design competition for a mobile and zero carbon footprint research station for the circumpolar regions three architects from Mittimatalik, Nunavut (Canada), Florence (Italy) and Plouezoc‘h (France) have been awarded. --> more

News: Exhibition "Awake Are Only The Spirits" travels to Poland in 2010
(19 Oct 2009) The exhibition which came to an end in the PHOENIX Halle Dortmund on 18 October 2009 will be shown in Poland in 2010. It will be on view at the Center for Contemporary Art (Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Znaki Czasu) in Torun from 26 March until 30 June 2010.

News: "Arctic Perspective": More than 100 submissions from 30 countries
(14 Sep 2009) More than 100 teams and individuals from 30 countries have submitted proposals for a "mobile media-centric habitation and work unit". During a workshop in Iceland from 15 - 18 Sep 2009 an international jury will decide on the first, the second and the third prize. --> more

News: European Design Awards 2009 for two HMKV publications
(10 June 2009) The exhibition catalogue „Waves – The Art of the Electromagnetic Society“ and the book cover of „HMKV 1996-2008“, both designed by the Dortmund-based office Labor B, have convinced the international jury consisting of representatives of leading European design magazines. --> more

News: ISEA 2010 as part of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010
(1 Sep 2008) The Medienwerk NRW will host the 16th International Symposium on Electronic Art, the world's biggest conference on media art. HMKV which acts as the branch office of Medienwerk NRW will organise the conference in cooperation with ISEA2010's artistic director Dr. Andreas Broeckmann in Dortmund, Essen, Duisburg and other cities of the Ruhrgebiet in August 2010. News: European Design Award for "Hartware Guide to Irational"
(1 June 2008) The ›Hartware Guide to Irational‹ designed by laborb was awarded for the 'successful interplay of paper, typography, binding and conceptional structure' as the best art catalogue. News: Book published: HMKV Hartware MedienKunstVerein 1996-2008
(1 April 2008) Since 1996 Hartware MedienKunstVerein has realized over 70 exhibitions, film and video programs, workshops, lectures, symposia and conferences at various venues in Dortmund as well as in other cities in and outside of Germany. Among the 40 exhibitions of the last twelve years there were seminal projects such as Reservate der Sehnsucht (1998), games. Computer games by artists (2003) and History Will Repeat Itself (2007/2008). This book documents the history of this unique institution in Germany. --> more
