README 100: Temporary software art factory

Readme is an international festival for software art and cultures. Certainly the most popular definition of software art is dorkbot’s: „people doing strange things with software“. Our everyday environments are increasingly based on software. By e.g. intervening in existing commercial software or by designing its own software solutions software art directs our attention on these programmed structures that normally remain invisible. Readme was initiated in Moscow, Russia, in 2002.

Terrain Vague - Conference, Screening, Catalogue Presentation


Oct 14-15, 2005

"Terrain Vague" takes place on October 14-15, 2005, in the context of the exhibition "On Disappearance. Loss of World and Escaping from the World" in the PHOENIX Halle Dortmund. On this weekend, the catalogue will be presented (which will be delivered just in time from the printing house!), there is a guded tour with the curators through the exhibition, a panel discussion with guests elaborating on the topic of the exhibition, a workshop and a comprehensive video program ("Space Night"). "Terrain Vague" is a cooperation between the Hartware MedienKunstVerein and Heinrich Boell Stiftung NRW.
