Audio Guide: In a Future Not Far Away...

Dortmunder U | 3rd Floor | 01/23/2017 , 11:00 - 01/27/2017, 11:00

In a Future Not Far Away... is a workshop designed to encourage pupils from the Albrecht Dürer Secondary School to develop their own visions of the future.

The aim is to create short stories about the world of tomorrow inspired by the works in the exhibition. Have robots taken our jobs? Is the earth run by artificial intelligence? Do the contents of our homes organise our daily lives by shopping, cooking, cleaning and running the bath for us?

What does this world look like and what is man's role in it? As we collected ideas for the stories, we also discussed cutting-edge technology. Where are machines and artificial intelligence already assisting us? What is the Internet of Things?

The finished short stories will be read aloud and recorded to create an audiobook of the writers' works. At the end of the project, we hope to make the recordings available to visitors to the exhibition in the form of an audio guide so that they can listen to the stories as they contemplate the artworks.

The workshop will be led by the young authors, radio drama producers Roman Kurth and Julian Gauda and the HMKV Education Team.

You can hear the results of the workshop here.
