Solar Radio Station

In this (live) installation one can listen to the sounds of the universe originating from various sources. They have been collected by the artists’ group radioqualia (Honor Hager, Adam Hyde) in cooperation with the Riga media culture center RIXC. The recordings are coming from various radio telescopes.

From May 5 – July 16, 2006 Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) presents two exhibitions on the topic of football and globalisation at PHOENIX Halle Dortmund: "Glamour and Globalisation" (curated by Inke Arns, HMKV Dortmund) and "Fanshop of Globalization: Soccer, Space and Economy" (a project by Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung and raumtaktik, Berlin).

Rosa Barba: Printed Cinema

In 2005 the Cologne-based artist Rosa Barba (*1972) received the Grant of the State of NRW for a Media Artist working in NRW (7.660 Euro) which is organised by the Hartware MedienKunstVerein. In her works, Rosa Barba deals with the intersections between music video, experimental film and installation.

Expanded Cinema: Film as spectacle, event and performance

hartware medien kunst verein + medien_kunst_netz dortmund presented the series "Expanded Cinema: Film as spectacle, event and performance", curated by the London-based film curator Mark Webber. During three consecutive weekends, approximately forty film performances and Expanded Cinema events from the sixties until today were presented which so far have only rarely been shown in Germany or which had their German premiere in Dortmund. More than 15 artists - among them Carolee Schneemann, Anthony McCall, Valie Export and Malcolm Le Grice – presented their work in person.
