Native plant growth on industrial wasteland
Excursion with the biologist Klaus-Jürgen Conze

A botanical excursion to the old Phoenix West industrial wasteland with biologist and animal ecologist Klaus-Jürgen Conze starts at 13:00 at the Dortmunder U.

Why do only certain plants colonise industrial wastelands and which species are they? We will use wild plants to explain the history of the soil conditions around the fascinating steelworks ruins in Dortmund Hörde.

The excursion will be accompanied by former US Park Ranger and art historian Emily Eliza Scott, who will then offer a special guided tour of the World of Matter exhibition at 16:00.

Meeting point: Dortmunder U, foyer of the HMKV, level 3, 13:00

Duration: approx. 120 min

Participation is free of charge! Please have a ticket for public transport (price level A) ready.
