In the distant future, humans have become an endangered species, with eighty per cent of the population consisting of robots with artificial intelligence. Android ID 722 Yoko Suzuki is one of them. As a messenger, she travels from star to star to deliver seemingly meaningless parcels to people who now live in the loneliest places in the universe: a hat, a pen, a cigarette butt, a photograph - all memories of a time long past that Yoko can do nothing with. In her retro spaceship, she nevertheless spends day after day in the same rut and often takes years to deliver even a single one of her parcels. She then wanders around desolate places in search of the lonely souls for whom her parcels are intended and whose contents people seem to be waiting for forever.

"The Whispering Star is a playful and funny existentialist science fiction fable, loaded with impossible encounters. An intergalactic journey in search of humanity that finds poetry far, far away, among the stars." (Festival du Nouveau Cinéma)
