Family Sunday
HMKV at the Dortmunder U | Level 3
Every first Sunday of the month, a varied programme for the whole family takes place throughout the Dortmunder U. As part of the exhibition Robotron. Working Class and Intelligentsia (14 March – 26 July 2026), HMKV is offering the following programme:
Fold, glue, twist – build your own mini-robot
12:00 – 17:00 | HMKV, Level 3, Workshop Room
Paint, fold, glue, and twist – in no time, you’ll have created small, colourful robots. You’ll assemble them from individual cube-shaped elements, and by twisting them, you can keep creating new and playful mini-robots.

Knight Optimus has prepared some tricky questions for you to solve in the exhibition. You’ll be especially well equipped if you join our family tour at 15:00. If you find the solution word, you can collect a small reward from our team.
Family tour
15:00 - 15:30 | HMKV, Level 3
Who—or what—is Robotron? Does it have anything to do with robots? What was data stored on before the cloud, USB sticks, and CDs? What technology powers our mobile phones and computers? And what does all this have to do with an art exhibition?
On our family tour of the Robotron exhibition, you’ll discover exciting artworks and are welcome to ask any questions that come to mind. At the end, Knight Optimus will challenge you with a riddle to solve.
