Family Sunday

Dortmunder U | Level 3

Every first Sunday of the month, a colorful, free program for the whole family takes place throughout the Dortmunder U.

HMKV is currently featuring an exhibition by British artist Fiona Banna aka The Vanity Press. It is called Pranayama Typhoon Soft Parts Wing Flap Fin. On view is, amongst other things, the video Pranayama Organ (2021), in which two inflatable dummy airplanes suddenly come to life at dawn. While watching, you can make yourself comfortable on beanbags in the shape of life-size airplane parts (Soft Parts: Wing, Flap, Fin, 2022). You can see such a life-size airplane dummy, as in the video, also on the exhibition area - it slowly inflates with air and collapses again.

HMKV will offer an exciting program to accompany the exhibition on Family Sunday:

12:00 - 17:00
We are creative around the theme of airplanes! You can try out different sewing techniques, sew your own airplane hand puppet, or make reflective airplane tags for your school satchel. For children 6 years and older.
