Thies Mynther and Jakob S. Boeskov: Erik/Prince Is Dead – A Fever Dream Letter Scape

HMKV Video of the Month

01–30 June 2021

One of the more encouraging aspects of the pandemic is how collaborations evolve under difficult circumstances. This video is the result of a communal effort during the first lockdown in 2020. After reading Boeskov’s epic poem in an Instagram post, Mynther contacted Boeskov to set his “contemporary equivalent of Ginsberg’s Howl” to music and visualize it together. And they did.

Thies Mynther composed and produced the music and soundtrack respectively for DEFENDER (2021) and Border Control (2021) by Stefan Panhans and Andreas Winkler - currently to be seen and heard in the solo exhibition The Pow(d)er of I Am Klick Klick Klick and a very very bad musical! at HMKV (15 May - 5 September 2021).
