Anniversary Party: 30 Years of HMKV with GRENZKONTROLLE & Die Jugend von Gestern

The HMKV is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026 and invites everyone to the Sommer am U stage on July 24. Starting at 20:00., the bands Die Jugend von Gestern (Dortmund) and GRENZKONTROLLE (Cologne) will perform. The evening begins at 19:00. with a DJ warm-up by Lera Zagrevskaya. Admission is free.

Both bands share with HMKV an engagement with contemporary social and political issues. While GRENZKONTROLLE explores these questions through post-punk, Die Jugend von Gestern channels emotional and political tensions into a sound that combines hypnotic guitars with dreamlike lyrics.

The evening offers an opportunity to look back on 30 years of HMKV together, exchange memories, and celebrate the anniversary.
