Opening of “Robotron. Working Class and Intelligentsia” on March 13, 2026

On Friday, March 13, 2026, at 19:00, the HMKV invites you to the opening of the group exhibition Robotron. Working Class and Intelligentsia (March 14–July 26, 2026).

From combines and cybernetics to spy stories and Meissen porcelain to today's reindustrialization of Saxony as “Silicon Saxony”: Starting on March 14, 2026, the HMKV will present the exhibition, focusing on a chapter of East German industrial history that is still surprisingly little known in the West.

The exhibition opening will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026 (19:00 - 22:00), doors open at 18:30) at the HMKV on level 3 of the Dortmunder U. With speeches by curators Dr Inke Arns (Director of HMKV), Franciska Zólyom, and Sabine Weier (both GfZK, Leipzig).
